to a New Season

To everything there is a season. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Our church has been faithfully, energetically, and patiently serving God during this season of transition following the retirement of Rev. Cindy Schwartz in July 2024. Commissioned Ruling Elder, and church member, David Sadler, stepped into the pastoral role for nine months before the session approved Rev. Ray Thomas as Transitional Pastor, beginning June 1, 2025. Ray has been preaching on transitional themes as well as leading us in town hall meetings about our church identity, core values, missional direction, and the gifts we hope to discern in our next pastor. In coming months, the Session will be requesting the Presbytery’s Commission on Ministry for its permission to have the congregation elect a Pastor Nominating Committee to search for our next pastor. Ordinarily, in good Presbyterian fashion,
this search can span 6-12 months, or more.

In the meantime, our church is continuing to be actively engaged in all its ministries and mission: Sunday worship, Sunday School classes for all ages, Women's Bible Study, Come to the Table luncheons , potlucks and meals, the Blessing Box, support for The Branch of Nashville, welcoming of Iglesia Apostolica and Rock Eternal Arabic Presbyterian churches to worship in our building, caring for the homebound and the ill, as well as supporting very active and dedicated committees.
