Message: Rev. Ray Thomas
Liturgist: Amy Aviles

†CALL TO WORSHIP: (Zechariah 9:9)
One Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
All: Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
One: Lo, your king comes to you;
All: Triumphant and victorious is he,
One: Humble and riding on a donkey,
All: On a colt, the foal of a donkey.
†OPENING HYMN: Blue #89 “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna”
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Eternal God: in Jesus Christ you entered Jerusalem to die, so that we may receive deep, lasting life through him. We confess that we have not fully embraced the abundance of life you offer nor the depth of love you’ve proven. For brief faith that fades during trouble, for enthusiasms that fizzle out, for hopes we parade but do not pursue, have mercy on us. Forgive us, Lord God, and give us such trust in your power that, in every place and every day, we may live for your justice and tell of your loving kindness, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Amen
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
†PASSING OF THE PEACE
†CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE: Blue# 579 “Gloria Patri”
TIME FOR ALL GOD’S CHILDREN
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION:
God of living grace, whose word silences the shouts of the mighty: quiet within us every voice but yours. Speak to us through the suffering and death of Jesus Christ that, through your Holy Spirit, we may show Christ’s resurrection power through our faithful discipleship. Amen.
SCRIPTURE READINGS: Psalm 118: 19-29; Matthew 21: 1-11
One: This is the word of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
MESSAGE: “Who Is This” Rev. Ray Thomas
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: (Philippians 2: 4-11)
Let each of you look not to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross. Therefore, God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
