†CALL TO WORSHIP: (Isaiah 58: 6-8)
One: Come, all who thirst for grace, all who long for living water.
All: We come to the One who meets us at the well and knows us by name.
One: In the wilderness, God brought water from the rock.
All: In every wilderness of our lives, God is still our help and our hope.
One: Today, if we hear God’s voice, let us not harden our hearts.
All: Let living water flow through us, breaking down every barrier.
†OPENING HYMN: Blue #446       “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken”
 CALL TO CONFESSION:
 PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
God of living water, we confess that we have built walls where you would make a way. We have judged others by old stories, held on to grudges that dry up our spirits, and turned away from those who do not look, speak, or believe as we do. Forgive us for the barriers we protect and compassion we withhold. Break open our hardened places. Give us the courage to listen, to learn, and to love. Meet us again at the well, and pour your renewing Spirit into our lives.
SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION: In Jesus’ name, Amen
 ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
†PASSING OF THE PEACE
†CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE: Blue# 579     “Gloria Patri”
TIME FOR ALL GOD’S CHILDREN
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION:
Gracious God, as your Word is read and proclaimed, open our hearts like the woman at the well, that we may hear truth spoken in love. Break down the walls that keep us from understanding, and let your living water flow through these scriptures until they become life within us. Amen.
 SCRIPTURE READINGS: Exodus 17: 1-7; John 4: 5-42
One: This is the word of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
