Message: Rev. Ray Thomas
Liturgist: David Sadler, CRE

†CALL TO WORSHIP: (Psalm 15)
One: Who can live in your tent, Lord? Who can dwell on your holy mountain?
All: The person who lives free of blame, does what is right, and speaks the truth sincerely;
One: Who does o damage with their talk, does no harm to a friend, doesn’t insult a neighbor; someone who despises those who act wickedly, but who honors those who honor the Lord;
All: Someone who keeps their promise even when it hurts. Whoever does these things will never stumble.
†OPENING HYMN: Blue #417 “Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation”
CALL TO CONFESSION:
PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
We are works in progress, Lord, as you know so well. We still have work to do: examining our fears, relinquishing grudges, accepting hard truths, and forgiving the sins of others. As well as our own. Your Spirit breathes new hope into our places of despair and shines a gentle, approachable light into our guarded spots of anger and regret. Jesus forgave sinners, healed persons who were wounded, and restored the hopes of so many he encountered. Encounter us here, Lord, as we are today. Continue to transform us, Lord as you see us becoming healed, whole and fully alive.
SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION: In Jesus’ name. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
†PASSING OF THE PEACE
†CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE: Blue# 579 “Gloria Patri”
TIME FOR ALL GOD’S CHILDREN
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION:
Speak you word, Lord, to clear our vision. Enable our spirits to hear your voice. So we can reconnect with the one who created us, loves us, and sustains us. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
SCRIPTURE READINGS: Micah 6:1-8, Matthew 5:1-12
One: This is the word of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
MESSAGE: “It Only Looks Bad” Rev. Ray Thomas
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: (Philippians 2: 4-11)
Let each of you look not to your own interest, but also to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he mumbled himself and became obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross. Therefore, God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
SPECIAL MUSIC:
CALL FOR GOD’S TITHES AND OUR OFFERING
PASTORAL PRAYER AND LORD’S PRAYER
†CLOSING HYMN: Blue : #438 “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”
†BENEDICTION:
†MUSICAL DISMISSAL WITH BLESSING: “Let There Be Peace on Earth”
