One: I lift up my eyes to the hills – from where will my help come?
All: My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
One: He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
All: He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
One: The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
All: The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
One: The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
All: The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.

CALL TO CONFESSION:
PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord our God, as we move into the change of seasons, from summer to autumn, we remember other seasons of change in our lives. Seasons of joy, and sorrow. Seasons of fullness, and emptiness. Seasons of being young, and not so young. We confess that we have not handled changes well. We’ve questioned your wisdom and doubted your love. We blamed and we worried. Forgive our lack of trust and our resistance to your new, surprising blessings. May we never forget how your grace proves to be sufficient before, during, and after all seasons of change. May our gratitude to you never change. Hear us now as we confess our sins silently…
