Pentecost Sunday
Message: David Sadler, CRE
Liturgist: Tom Tozer

†CALL TO WORSHIP:
One: On the day of Pentecost, the disciples gathered- anxious, uncertain, waiting.
All: And suddenly from heaven came a sound like rushing wind.
One: The Spirit filled the room, filled their hearts, and sent them out with power.
All: The Spirit still fills us, still sends us, still give us gifts beyond our imagining.
One: Let us worship the God who pour out the Spirit on all flesh- young and old, bold and hesitant, dreamers and doers.
All: Come, Holy Spirit!
†OPENING HYMN: # 128, “On Pentecost They Gathered”
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Spirit of God, we confess that fear and self-doubt hold us back from all you long to accomplish through us. We measure your call by our own capacity, forgetting that you empower ordinary people with extraordinary gifts. Forgive us when we resist your movement, when we cling to safety, when we silence the dreams, you plant within us. Breathe on us again, that we may rise with courage and hope. Now Lord, hear our silent prayers of confession.
SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION: We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
†PASSING OF THE PEACE
†CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE: # 579 “Gloria Patri”
TIME FOR ALL GOD’S CHILDREN
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION:
Holy Spirit, open our ears to hear, our hearts to receive, and our lives to respond to your living Word. Amen.
